On COVID-19

The pandemic is going to have an impact on Springfield beyond 2021.  The toll of COVID-19 will leave scars: physical, emotional, economic. We have an obligation as neighbors and citizens to do all that we can to support and protect our most vulnerable populations in Springfield.

I would support necessary funding to allow Health & Human Services to prepare a complete report of its’ COVID-19 response – what was learned, what worked, and what failed.  Springfield needs a formal pandemic response plan to establish a blueprint to base future responses on.

The anticipated loss in State funding, coupled with lost revenues, will put Springfield in a difficult position in the coming years.  As your City Councilor, I will use my experience working in the private sector to ensure we make prudent financial decisions.  Every dollar must be carefully analyzed to ensure it is a dollar well spent.
